Botanical Garden
Project Wings Sumatra Botanical Garden is a conservation-based educational garden designed as a center for learning, sustainable plant production, and responsible plant utilization. The garden serves as the heart of various environmental programs at Project Wings, where plants are not only grown, but also studied, nurtured, and processed into valuable and useful products. Here, the concept of from nature to product is put into practice, connecting nature, people, and sustainability within one integrated system.
More than just a garden, the Botanical Garden functions as a living space and an open-air natural laboratory, where visitors can directly observe how natural cycles work. From planting and nurturing to harvesting and processing plant products, every stage is carried out naturally and sustainably. Each plant growing in the garden has its own role and value, whether as a source of food, herbal ingredients, or as part of biodiversity conservation. This approach not only helps protect the environment but also revitalizes local knowledge about the use of plants that has been passed down through generations. The Botanical Garden also serves as a space for collaboration among the Project Wings team, local communities, students, and volunteers from around the world. Through these interactions, knowledge and experiences are shared, strengthening awareness of the importance of protecting and preserving nature.
